Camalonga – or camalonga protection – is the Peruvian name for Yellow Oleander (Thevetia peruviana). An infusion containing Camalonga is commonly used along with Ayahuasca by Amazonian shamans in Ayahuasca ceremonies. This mixture had several “macho” and “hembra” (male and female) seeds. It is mixed in a bottle of aguardiente (distilled sugar cane juice) along with camphor, garlic, and white onion. The resulting extraction is used externally as a pre-ceremonial ointment for protection. In some traditions, an ounce is drank immediately after consuming Ayahuasca.

This mixture is mainly used for protection. It will shield energy coming off of people during ceremonies, energy work, or gatherings. It repels negativity, black magic, and jealousy. It will shield you from energy when you are participating in any ceremony, or just want protection in your daily life. This particular mixture is very hard to acquire because of the legality in sending liquids and live plants from Peru.

Each bottle contains about a liter of the liquid. When the liquid is low, you can refill it with pure cane alcohol and in 24 hours, use it again. This should last you several years of continual use as long as the alcohol is refilled. Sometimes the liquid turns greenish due to the alcohol extracting the plant essence; when this happens, the liquid should be poured out and can be used around your home, yard, living space, office etc. but cannot be used for a person. The same protecting properties will apply to your home, or healing space.

Each tradition is different, but many do not recommend women who are menstruating use Camalonga, whether they are serving or receiving, due to the fact they are expelling all the energy they have absorbed during the month.

It is recommended to use it during every ceremony and apply it to everyone receiving medicine to protect them from energies from others coming off during the work.
